Centos7 installation steps and precautions
I recently purchased a new server, and most of the current servers and PCs do not have optical drives. This time I used usb to install the system.
What the server does is raid 1.
1. Prepare a USB drive of about 8G;
2. Download a system at http://mirrors./centos/7/isos/x86_64/, I use CentOS-7.0-1406-x86_64;
3. Download a trial version of UltraISO;
4. Use UltraISO to burn the downloaded system into the USB drive; then copy the CentOS-7.0-1406-x86_64 file into the root directory of the USB drive; if your USB drive is not spaced enough, you can delete all the files in the "Packages" directory;
5. Enter the bios settings interface of the server and set it to USB startup;
6. Insert the burned USB drive into the server and restart the system;
7. When the following interface appears, press Tab,
CentOS 7 Install CentOS7 Test this media & install CentOS 7 Troubleshooting Press Tab for full configuration options on menu items.
8. At this time, there will be
>vmlinuz initrd= inst.stage2=hd:LABEL=CentOS\x207\x20x86_64 quiet
The text appears at the bottom of the screen, modify this line of text to
>vmlinuz initrd= inst.stage2=hd:/dev/sdc4 quiet
Note that the name of USB device of each computer is different, mine is in /dev/sdc4. If you are not sure about your usb device name, you can change the text to
>vmlinuz initrd= linux dd quiet
After pressing, the interface you choose will appear on the screen, you can try it one by one.
9. Then, you can install it smoothly.
In summary, the installation of CentOS7 is much more convenient than the previous version. However, there are some changes in the system.
Things to note,
1. I installed the system under raid 1. After entering the installation interface, a dialog box appears, prompting "An Unknown Error Has Occurred". The line at the top of the detail info is probably prompting exception "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/pyanaconda/". This information appears probably because there is some raid data in your hard disk that conflicts with the installer. Then I formatted the entire disk with diskgenius. Finally, reinstalled and finally saw the interface to select the language.
