country Command Configuration The MS-DOS subsystem recognizes the character set used by one of the languages and the punctuation agreements that are adhered to. Load the "Country (Region)" setting using the %systemroot%\System32\ file or the equivalent startup file specified in the program's program information file (PIF).
Specify supported languages
The following table lists all countries (regions) or languages supported by the MS-DOS subsystem. This table lists the code pages that can use each country code. For example, if the country (region) code used is 003, you can only use the code page 437 or 850 for the yyy parameter. The first page of the two code pages listed for each country (region) or language is the default code page.

The country (region) code specifies the time and date formats used by the following commands: backup, date, and time.
The following table lists the date and time formats related to each country code. For each country (region) code, the date format bar shows January 3, 1994, and the time format bar shows 5:35. (Second and one percent second columns are 0).
