1. The clipboard occupies too much memory
In fact, the clipboard is a temporary area in memory. When you use the "Copy" or "Cut" command in the program, Windows will temporarily store information such as the copied or cut content and its format on the clipboard for "paste". If the clipboard is currently storing a picture, the clipboard will occupy a lot of memory. At this time, please follow the steps below to clear the contents in the clipboard and release the memory resources it occupies:
1. Click Start, point to Programs or All Programs, point to Attachments, point to System Tools, and then click Clipboard View Programs to open the Clipboard View Programs window. 2. On the Edit menu, click the Delete command. 3. Close the "Clipboard View Program" window.
In order to distinguish it from the multiple clipboards provided by Microsoft Office programs, the clipboard mentioned above is often called the system clipboard. If you are using a Micros OfOffice program and use its multi-clipboard feature, you should clear the project on the Office Clipboard by: On the Office Clipboard task pane (OfficeXP) or toolbar (Office2000), click Clear All or Clear Clipboard. When the "Office Clipboard" is cleared, the system clipboard will also be cleared at the same time.
2. Too many programs opened
If there are too many documents opened at the same time or too many programs running, there is not enough memory to run other programs. At this time, for multi-document interface (MDl) programs, such as Word, Excel, etc., please close all documents outside the current document and exit the currently unused program, and then perhaps you can continue to execute tasks that have been interrupted due to "out of memory".
3. Restart the computer
If you only exit the program and do not restart the computer, the program may not be able to return the memory resources to the system. Please restart the computer to free up system resources, then run the program again or perform the interrupted task.
4. Too many automatic programs
If there are too many programs that automatically run when starting Windows, then even if the computer is restarted, there is not enough memory to run other programs.
(I) Determine whether there are too many programs set to run automatically
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the "Open" box, type "Msconfig", click the "OK" button to open the "System Configuration Utility" window.
3. Click the General tab, select the "Selective Start" check button, clear the "Process Files" check box and the "Load Start Group Project" check box.
4. Click the "OK" button. When the system prompts to restart the computer, click the "Yes" button.
After restarting the computer, if the memory problem has been resolved, you can configure the computer to not open any programs at startup.
(2) Configuring the computer does not automatically open any programs
1. Recover the changes made in Msconfig by: In the System Configuration Utility window, click the General tab, select Normal Startup, click the OK button, and restart the computer.
2. Delete all shortcuts in the "Startup" folder
①Click "Start", point to "Settings", and then click "Taskbar and Start Menu", and the "Taskbar Properties" dialog box pops up.
②Click the "Start Menu Program" tab and click the "Delete" button.
③Click the plus sign next to the "Start" folder to display the list of programs set to run automatically. If there is no plus sign "+" next to the Startup folder, it means there is no program set to run automatically, click the Close button to terminate the process.
④Click each shortcut in the "Start" folder and click the "Delete" button. This action removes the shortcut from the Start menu, but does not delete the corresponding program from the hard disk. Repeat this step for each shortcut in the Startup folder.
⑤Click the "Close" button.
⑥Click the "OK" button.
3. Disable all programs loaded from files
① Open the "System Configuration Utility" window as described above.
②Click the "" tab, double-click "[windows]", and then clear the "Load=" and "Run=" check boxes.
③Click the "OK" button. When the system prompts to restart the computer, please click the "Yes" button.
