The computer crashes, I believe everyone is familiar with it. Whenever you find a crash, friends who are beginners usually start or reset the startup directly, but they don’t know that sometimes the computer does not really crash, it is just a state of fake death. Press the "Numlock" key in the digital area. If the indicator light responds, it means that it is a fake dead machine. So how do we deal with real and fake deaths?
Many fake dead machines are caused by the failure of running programs (for example: if you open or start too many programs at the same time, and the system resource consumption is severe, the program will stop responding). At this time, we can press the "Ctrl+Alt+Del" key combination and select the program item marked "No response" in the pop-up list (if there are two, close the superior program first), click "End Task" to force it to shut down to restore the system to normal operation. However, sometimes even if "Close... (the program)" occurs, there will be no response for a long time. In this case, we can modify the registry to quickly close unresponsive programs and allow forced shutdown.
1. Quickly close unresponsive programs
Enter "Regedit" in the "Start → Run" box, open "Register Editor", create a new string value Waittokillapptimeout under HKEY-CURRENT-USER, and set its key value to 1000 (ms) or less.
If the above method is used and there is no response for a long time, you have to force shut down or restart it. However, as long as you make the following modifications, you can minimize the damage to the machine.
2. Force shutdown is allowed
Enter HEKY-USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\desktop, create a string "AutoEndTask", and set its key value to "1".
For real crashes, you can usually only press the "Ctrl+Alt+Del" key combination twice or press the "Reset" key on the host chassis (because it consumes less resources, the former is preferred) to restart.
3. Automatically restart when the system crashes
Enter HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\C-o-n-trol\CrashControl primary key, modify "AutoReboot" in the window on the right, and change its key value to "1".
The above registry modifications may be different in different versions of Windows. Please do not add them easily if there is no corresponding key value.
