UniveRSS is a 3D RSS feed reader for Windows Vista. The program uses the Windows Presentation Foundation to display RSS feeds and their content graphically.
In UniveRSS, we can see a 3D "cosmic" space, the "galaxy" represents the RSS feed directory, and the cube-shaped "stars" represent a single feed. The size and position of the feed cube depends on how much it contains for the reading item.
In addition, users can identify each feed through the website logo or feed picture.
Microsoft said that operating in this environment is a bit like playing a game, "Selecting an item in the list will turn the cube to the other side, displaying the item content including the picture", "right-click to return to the list view or return to the Galaxy."
Microsoft recommends that UniveRSS be installed in Windows Vista Premium-ready PC, the hardware is configured as a CPU above 1Ghz, 1GB of memory, a graphics card that supports DirectX 9 and has WDDM driver, 128MB of graphics memory, and Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32-bit color depth.
UniveRSS future plans include other navigation methods, advanced search and classification, and Microsoft Live platform integration and more personalization options.
