A universal Ghost system production tutorial shared by good people is provided with relevant software download page 2/3

4. Clean the disk and delete the system and IE temporary files
* Run the disk cleaner to delete the system temporary files
Start—Program—Accessories—System Tools—Disk Cleanup—Select Drive—OK—Disk Cleanup—Select Delete File—OK.
*Delete IE temporary files and history
Open IE—Tool—Internet Options—General—Delete Cookies(I)—OK—Delete Files (F)—OK—Delete History (H)—OK—OK.
*Delete the most recently used document records
Start—Settings—Taskbar and [Start] Menu (T)—[Start] Menu (S)—Custom (C)—Advanced—Clear List (C)—OK.

5. Use DllCacheManager to back up the DllCache directory file (dll file)
This step must be performed after the system is encapsulated.
After backing up the DllCache directory file using DllCacheManager_V1.0 (Dragon Empire Special Edition) can reduce the disk space by about 300M.

3. Delete and change the system hardware driver (key)
==================================

1. Uninstall the hardware driver
(1) Uninstall the network adapter. (2) Uninstall the universal serial bus controller. (3) Uninstall the sound and video game controller. (4) Uninstall the monitor. (5) Uninstall the graphics card (Uninstalling the graphics card is to prevent the blue screen when Ghost goes to other machines). When uninstalling the hardware driver, if the system prompts to restart, select "No" to not start.

2. Change the computer power management mode Advanced Configuration Power Interface (ACPI) to Standard PC
Open Device Manager, right-click "Advanced Configuration Power Interface (ACPI)" under "Computer", select "Change Driver", select "Install from list or specify location (Advanced)" in the pop-up "Hardware Update Wizard" dialog box, click Next, and select "Don't search, I want to select the driver to be installed by myself", then click Next, select "Standard PC", and then click Next, the hardware manager will automatically install the driver of the Standard PC. After that, the computer will prompt to restart, and then select "No" to not start, and complete OK.
Change Note: If the new machine and the parent machine are not of the same type of ACPI, the computer's newly cloned machine will not be able to soft shutdown or system crashes, so it must be changed to a compatible Standard PC mode. Generally, older computers only have the Standard PC option, while most computers are Advanced Configuration Power Interface (ACPI), and new computers after 2003 are acpi uniprocessor pc.

3. Change the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller to "standard dual-channel PCI IDE controller"
Open Device Manager, right-click "Intel(r)82801BA Bus Master IDE Controller" under "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller" (Note: Different motherboards will display differently), select "Change Driver", select "Install from list or specify location (Advanced)" in the pop-up "Hardware Update Wizard" dialog box, click Next, and select "Don't search, I want to select the driver to install by myself", then click Next, select "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller", and then click Next, the hardware manager will automatically install the driver of the standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller. After that, the computer will prompt you to restart, then select "No" and not start, and complete OK.
Change Note: This step is the main key step. If not done, the system will not be started when Ghosting to another machine. Therefore, in order to adapt to various motherboards, the IDE controller must be changed to a "standard dual-channel PCI IDE controller".

Note: S&R&S_V9.5.0828 The intelligent system packaging tool has built-in "Change computer power management mode" and "Change IDE ATA/ATAPI controller". Therefore, these two steps can be avoided when matching S&R&S packaging, but you must enter the device manager after the system is encapsulated to check whether the changes are successful.

4. Organize disk fragmentation (recommended)
========================

After completing the above work, you must defragment the disk to ensure that there are no file fragments on the system partition, and there is no need to say more about the benefits. Of course, this step can also be done after the system is encapsulated or again after the system is encapsulated.

At this point, if you want to Ghost, you can already do it. However, in order to make the cloning system hardware driver installation more accurately and run more stably, we need to re-encapsulate the system using Microsoft's enterprise deployment toolkit. In this way, when the GHO file is restored, the system will reinstall all new hardware drivers, effectively avoiding the instability of the universal cloning system.

V. System Packaging (recommended)
====================

System repackaging can be directly repackaged using the enterprise deployment toolkit included in the system installation CD, or it can be intelligently packaged using the S&R&S_V9.5.0828 intelligent system packaging tool (recommended). The difference is that after Ghost is completed to the new machine, the computer's power management mode needs to be manually changed from Standard PC to the power management mode corresponding to the new machine, while the latter can automatically detect the hardware abstraction layer HAL type to realize automatic identification and change of power mode. Since the S&R&S_V9.5.0828 intelligent system packaging tool adopts longhorn’s detecthal technology, the accuracy rate of hal can reach 100%, and it directly enters the packaging process. The packaging speed is fast and there is no need to restart the computer multiple times.
Note: Windows2k/XP/2003 The system installation CDs of each version come with packaging tools, but they are not universal!

1. Create an automatic response file
Whether the system is installed in factory mode or repackaging, it will require users to enter some necessary content, such as user name, computer name, installation serial number, etc. But there is a problem, that is, when we need to enter this information during the Ghost cloning and installation of the new machine, the system has not found the driver of the keyboard and mouse, and the keyboard and mouse are in a fake dead state. At this time, the system must automatically answer and install, so there is an automatic answer file to complete the input of relevant information. The creation process is basically stupid. Just follow the prompts and follow the prompts step by step. It should be noted that you must select "sysprep installation" for the installation type step. It is best to select "fully automatic installation" for the license agreement. This way you can do without manual intervention during the installation process. You can also add the commands you need to run in "Run once", such as the command "convert C:/FS:NTFS" to convert FAT32 to NTFS. This command can be run once after the installation is completed.
Create steps: Double-click the file in the sysprep folder - create a new file - sysprep installation - Windows XP Professional - Yes, fully automatic installation - enter the name/unit - enter the product key - automatically generate the computer name... OK - complete.
Note: The file name of the automatic reply file must be  , and the directory you are in must be in the c:\sysprep directory.

2. Modify the background image when resuming the installation
Place your own background image in the sysprep folder, modify the file, and add:
[OEM_Ads]
  Background=
Just do it.
This method does not replace the autohal generated. After the registration screen is restored, the default logo will still appear before the minimized installation, but the time is very short, and the background image displayed during the minimized installation process is the one.

3. Repackage the system
Re-encapsulation system can be run in the Sysprep directory to directly encapsulate the system or run the intelligent encapsulation tool. After running or after running, you can complete the system re-encapsulation as prompts.
It should be noted that the option settings when packaging: * Among the 4 options in the system packaging screen, the second item "User Minimize Installation", that is, the residual driver installation item is exactly what we need, so we must select it. The first item "No resetting the grace period for activation" and the third item "No regenerating security identifier" are both activated by genuine users, and we use the activation-free version, so it doesn't matter whether these two options or not, and have no effect on the use of the system cloned by GHOST. The fourth option "Detection of non-plug and play hardware" is not required. *Shut down mode can be selected as needed. It is recommended to select "Exit" so that the next step is to backup the DllCache directory file. *After the options are set, you can click the "Repackage" button. The system will be repackaged in about half a minute.

4. Backup DllCache directory file (dll file)
Run the %systemroot% directory (XP system is the C:/windows directory, and the 2K system is the C:/winnt directory) and follow the prompts to complete the backup of the DllCache directory file, which can reduce the disk space of about 300M.
Note: When used with S&R&S, because DllCacheManager uses the registry runonce, when S&R&S changes the IDE to standard or changes the power mode to Standard PC, runonce will be activated. Therefore, the system must be encapsulated first and then backed up the DllCache directory file with DllCacheManager (if it is backed up first and then encapsulated, it will cause automatic backup restore when the encapsulation is started).

5. Since the system reduces disk space usage by about 300M after backing up the DllCache directory file (dll file), it is best to defragment the disk again at this time.

After completing the above steps, the system in disk C is already a clean and repackaged system. At this point, the entire packaging system is completed and you can turn off the computer (be careful not to start the encapsulated system. If you restart, the packaging system you just made will be restored and installed, and the above work will be in vain). The next job is to start the computer with DOS and make the clean system produced into a Ghost image file for use during installation.

6. Create Ghost system image files
==========================
Use DOS to start the computer to run Ghost, select "local→Partition→To Image" in the menu, select the first partition of the hard disk (C disk) in the pop-up dialog box, and set the image file saving path and file name, such as "D:\ghost\", and then press "YES" after selecting the compression method. The final generated file is the Ghost system image file.
Notice:
* It is recommended to use the Ghost_v8.0 & v8.2 version. On the one hand, v8.0 or above can support NTFS partitioning. On the other hand, v8.0 or above can automatically delete the virtual memory page file "" when making the image file to reduce the size of the image file.
*If you want to install more software for the universal clone you want to create, then the image file will likely exceed the capacity of a CD. At this time, you can use the Ghost volume compression function. For example, if you want to set the volume size to 650MB, you can enter the command "ghost -split=650" to run Ghost. The subsequent operations are no different from the previous introduction.

7. Restore universal Ghost system image (omitted)
===============================
Note: It is recommended to use the Ghost_v8.0 & v8.2 version.
