ADSL virtual dial
Dialing on the ADSL digital line is different from dialing on the analog phone line using a modem, but using a special protocol PPP over Ethernet. After dialing, the verification server is directly checked by the verification server. The user needs to enter the user name and password. After the verification is passed, a high-speed user number will be established; and the corresponding dynamic IP will be assigned. Virtual dialing users need to verify their identity through a user account and password. This user account, like the 163 account, was chosen by the user when applying, and this account is restricted and can only be used for ADSL virtual dialing, not for ordinary MODEM dialing.
ADSL dedicated line access
It is another type of ADSL access method. It is different from the virtual dialing method. Instead, it adopts an access method similar to a dedicated line. After the user connects and configures ADSL MODEM, the corresponding TCP/IP protocol and network parameters are set in the network settings of his PC (IP and mask, gateway, etc. are all allocated in advance by the local side). After the computer is turned on, the user and the local side will automatically establish a link. Therefore, ADSL's dedicated line access method is a dedicated line with fixed IP and automatic connection. Of course, its speed is much faster than some low-speed dedicated lines.
PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) protocol
PPPoE is a technology that relays PPP frame information in an Ethernet network. Usually PPP (point-to-point protocol) is used when dialing to the ISP via telephone lines and ISDN. This protocol has the functions of user authentication and notifying IP addresses. In ADSL, PPPoE is used to connect ADSL Modem to personal computers or routers in the home.
PPP over ATM (PPPoA) protocol
Using PPPoA access technology, the PC terminal directly initiates a PPP call. After receiving the upper layer PPP packet, the ATM25 network card on the user side performs AAL5 layer packaging processing on the PPP packet according to the RFC2364 packaging standard to form an ATM cell stream. The ATM cells are transmitted to the broadband access server on the network side through ADSL Modem, completing a series of PPP access processes such as authorization, authentication, allocation of IP addresses and billing.
Enternet 300 (Enternet100 Enternet500)
PPPoE software developed by Efficient Network in the United States provides ADSL's PPPoE protocol to complete virtual dial-up Internet access work
WinPoET
The PPPoE software developed by WindRiver in the United States provides ADSL's PPPoE protocol to complete virtual dial-up Internet access.
RasPPPoE
PPPoE software developed by German individuals provides ADSL's PPPoE protocol to complete virtual dial-up Internet access.
Up
Refers to the transmission of information from the user's computer to the network
Down
Refers to browsing WWW web pages and downloading files, with a speed of up to 8Mbps.
Splitter splitter
ADSL MODEM users separate the pre-equipment of ordinary telephone voice signals and ADSL network signals in the telephone line. After the signal is separated, they are sent to different telephone equipment (telephones, fax machines, etc.) and ADSL MODEMsynchronization.
The ADSL network signal connection process between the ADSL client and the local end. Only after the two-party signals are connected (synchronized) can ADSL be used.
VPI (Virtual Path Identifier Virtual Path Identifier)
VCI (Virtual Channel Identifier)
VCI, VPI is the flag that DSLAM recognizes each ATM terminal (ADSL line).
