To disable or enable file and directory name autocomplete on your computer or in a user login session, run and set the following REG_DWORD value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\CompletionChar\REG_DWORD

To set the REG_DWORD value, use the hexadecimal value of the control characters used for a specific function (for example, 0×9 represents the TAB key, and 0×08 represents the BACKSPACE key). User-specific settings take precedence over computer settings, and command-line options take precedence over registry settings. For more information on file and directory name completion, see "".
