Four optimization tips for Windows 2003 system

In response to the server needs, Windows 2003 handles the default settings of hardware such as sound cards and graphics cards. However, individual users often encounter some "faults" when using them. So how should they be solved?

1. The picture is rough when playing the movie

Many friends have such "experiences": their computer configuration is quite good, and the graphics card can be automatically recognized and installed after installing Windows 2003, but the picture is very rough when playing movies, and the picture quality is still the same after installing the latest version of the graphics card driver.

Solution: Right-click on the desktop, go to "Show Properties"\"Settings"\"Advanced"\"Troubleshooting", drag the "Hardware Acceleration" cursor to the right to "Full", click OK to exit, and then select "System Tools"\"System Information" in "Accessories", select "Tools"\"DirectX Diagnostic Tools" (because the program collects system information, you need to wait a little, and a splash may appear), select the "Display" tab, and then enable the "DirectDrw Acceleration" and "Direct3D celeration" items.

2. The sound card does not work or the sound is lagging

In Windows 2003, most sound cards can continue to use their drivers in Windows 2000/XP, while older sound cards (such as Dimeng S90, etc.) can only be manually installed. After installing the sound card, users often encounter the following two problems:

1) The sound card does not work

Solution: Enter the "Control Panel"\"Sound and Audio Control Devices", check the "Audio Service" option, click "OK" and restart the computer.

2) The sound is severely lagging when playing the game

Solution: Enter the "DirectX Diagnostic Tool", select the "Sound" tab, and drag the cursor right to "Full Acceleration" in the "Accelerator Level", and just confirm.

3. IE always reminds you of safety hazards

When browsing web pages under Windows 2003, every time a page is visited, IE will remind you of security risks and ask whether to continue accessing. The reason for this problem is that the default security level setting of IE in Windows 2003 is too high.

Workaround: Start IE, select Tools\"Internet Options", and set the security level to "Medium" in the "Security" tab.

4. The system responds slowly when running large software

The requirements for system resources of servers and workstations are different. If we want to run software such as Photoshop, we should reassign the system resources and modify them to a state similar to Windows XP.

Solution: Go to the "Control Panel"\"System"\"Advanced" tab, click "Settings"\"Advanced" in the "Performance" column, select "Program" in both the "Processor Plan" and "Memory Usage" columns, click "OK" and restart the computer at the end.
