Job application interview skills. You might as well take a look at the job interviews for American college students

"You must shake hands with the interview supervisor with a strong indication of your confidence and enthusiasm..." On the afternoon of November 10, Director Sopha from the Employment Guidance Center of City College of City College in New York talked about the application interview questions for American college students at City College in Zhejiang University.

Don't just take your resume to apply for a job

Many Chinese college students only apply for jobs with resumes, and American college students have more things to prepare. Sopha said they also had to bring a self-introduction letter with a cover, a CD with their own project, etc.

During the interview, when the supervisor says "talk about your resume", you must not say "I have made it clear in my resume", it is best to say "as I said in my resume...", mainly talking about your educational background, career goals, skills and experience, etc.

Many companies in the United States attach great importance to whether candidates have team spirit. Projects you have done with classmates in college can reflect your team spirit, which is exactly what your CD wants to express.

Before the interview, be sure to search and inquire about the company you are applying for, grasp the company's situation, such as location, development prospects, etc., and combine the position you apply for with your personality, major and interests, because this is directly related to your enthusiasm and creativity in your future work.

Interview handshakes must be strong

When shaking hands in an interview, you must be strong; otherwise, you will be considered to be lacking self-confidence and shy, and it is very likely that a job-seeking opportunity will slip away because many American bosses like enthusiastic and confident employees. In addition, don’t extend your sweaty hand to your employer interviewing, so that he can feel your nervousness and lack of confidence.

During the interview, the supervisor will likely chat with you about the weather, "It's sunny today." and so on. Many college students think it is a way for the supervisor to ease the atmosphere. In fact, he is testing your interpersonal skills and never underestimate it.

Sopha emphasized that in the last 5 minutes of the interview, the supervisor may ask you about the requirements or opinions on the job application. You can ask the company's vocational training plan, improvement space, etc., but don't ask salary questions because he hasn't hired you yet. Finally, you can add a sentence "Can I call you?" to give the supervisor a good impression of being polite. If possible, you can take this opportunity to increase his understanding of you.

Find a job like dancing

When looking for the position that suits you the most, you should actually keep moving your feet like dancing. Sopha said that when college students first graduated and looked for a job, they may not find the best position for them at once, so they may have to search again after working for 2-3 years. For example, if you like language, writing, and cars, what kind of job is best for you? Undoubtedly, you have to pay attention to the publishing industry or the media industry, and it is also related to automobiles. Then sports magazines, casual fashion magazines, etc. are a suitable choice. You should pay attention to collecting relevant information about this industry, and take action in a timely manner. It should not be difficult to find a job that you are interested in and able to use your expertise.

To find the position that suits you best, you should not only focus on a certain position, but also on the industry related to the position.
