The RPC DCOM vulnerability that has been very fierce recently is probably about to become a new carrier of worm. It seems that writing worm is a popular one, and many people are also curious and think worm is a very deep technology. In fact, it is just a very simple programming game. 1. What is a worm?
First, the explanation of Huanwei Zha Orm was excerpted from spark's article "Definition and History of Internet Worms": The biological noun worm was first introduced into the computer field by John F. Shoch and others of Xerox PARC in 1982, and gave two most basic characteristics of computer worms: "can be moved from one computer to another" and "can be copied by itself". Their purpose of writing worms is to conduct model experiments on distributed computing. In their articles, the destructiveness and difficulty of worms have begun to emerge. After the Morris worm outbreak in 1988, Eugene H. Spafford gave a definition of the technical perspective of worms in order to distinguish between worms and viruses. "Computer worms can run independently and can spread a version of themselves that contains all functions to another computer." 2. The components of worms
The composition of a worm is actually very simple. Since I am not teaching you to write about worms here, and due to time constraints, I will only briefly talk about it here.
We can think of it as a project, and we divide this project into 4 modules:
1. Attack module
First of all, there must be a large number of systems affected and severe vulnerabilities that can be easily exploited in order to be able to remotely control the machine. For example, guessing weak passwords, remote overflow, etc.
2. Infection module
Consider how to make the other party be attacked and perform the functions you want to implement to complete the infection of a host. For remote overflow, it is to perfect shellcode. In the meantime, we have to consider the issue of infection transmission (reproduction) pathway.
3. Communication module
For example, scan a machine with relevant weaknesses in the network segment, save it into a file, and then attack these IPs, or randomly generate IPs and then attack these IPs.
Simply put, it is to scan weak machines.
4. Functional module
Functional modules are actually a module that is not acceptable or not, but if you want the other party to infect the worm and add other functions such as backdoor/DDoS to the other party, you must have this.

Four RPC DCOM Vulnerability Introduction
The RPC DCOM vulnerability is a serious vulnerability in Windows systems recently and is also the most serious and widely affected Windows vulnerability ever.
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) is a protocol used on the Windows operating system. RPC provides mutual processing communication mechanisms, allowing computers running the program to execute code on a remote system. The RPC protocol itself originated from the OSF (Open Software Foundation) RPC protocol, and later some Microsoft-specific extension functions were added. The module in RPC that handles TCP/IP information exchange is used to handle abnormal information incorrectly, remote attackers can use this defect to execute arbitrary instructions on the system with local system permissions. This defect affects the DCOM interface using RPC, which handles DCOM object activation requests (such as UNC paths) sent by the client machine to the server. An attacker successfully exploits this flaw to execute arbitrary instructions with local system permissions. An attacker can perform any action on the system, such as installing programs, viewing or changing, deleting data, or establishing an account with system administrator privileges.

As you can see, this vulnerability affects all other Windows systems except Windows systems below WinME. At the same time, this vulnerability can be exploited remotely by the attacker.
Arbitrary code can be executed remotely on machines that have not been patched, resulting in an attacker having full control over the vulnerable machine.

Four RPC DCOM Vulnerability Introduction
The RPC DCOM vulnerability is a serious vulnerability in Windows systems recently and is also the most serious and widely affected Windows vulnerability ever.
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) is a protocol used on the Windows operating system. RPC provides mutual processing communication mechanisms, allowing computers running the program to execute code on a remote system.
