Kingsoft Anti-Virus 20050117_Daily

Beijing Information Security Assessment Center and Kingsoft Antivirus jointly released the popular virus on January 17, 2005.

Today, users are reminded to pay special attention to the following viruses: "Dedler"() and "Apple Bug"().

"Dedler" worm virus, which is spread through the Internet. The virus will modify the settings of the user's machine and stop deleting certain network monitoring services and anti-virus software services, resulting in a significant reduction in the security performance of the user's computer.
The "Apple Worm" worm virus is transmitted through sharing. After being infected with this virus, the user's machine is very likely to be controlled by hackers, and it will lead to the leakage of user information, which will definitely have adverse effects on users.

1. "Dedler"() threat level: ★★

According to Kingsoft Anti-Virus Engineer, after the virus is run, it will copy itself to the system directory, load it into the registry key, and delete some startup items; the virus will stop and delete certain network monitoring services and anti-virus software services, causing the user's computer security performance to be greatly reduced; and modify the system's "hosts", causing the poisoned user to be unable to access a large number of URLs normally, making it impossible for some anti-virus software to upgrade the virus database; receive control instructions sent by attackers through the ICQ server, such as downloading specified network files and running.
Kingsoft Antivirus Antivirus experts recommend users: establish good safety habits. Do not open some emails and attachments of unknown origin, do not go to some websites you don’t know much, and do not execute files that have not been processed by anti-virus software after downloading from the Internet, so that your computer is safer.

2. "Apple bug" () threat level: ★★

According to Kingsoft Antivirus Antivirus Engineer, this is a worm that is transmitted through shared. The virus first copies itself to the system directory of the local machine, and downloads the virus from the network to run it on the local machine; then the virus will automatically generate an IP address, and enumerate the names of the machines corresponding to these IP addresses, and then try to connect to these machines with an empty password; if it is successfully connected, the virus will be copied to the system directory of the remote machine, and the virus will be started by adding the registry startup key.
