Three ways to speed up adding and removing programs

Every time you install new software or uninstall old software, you usually need to open the "Add/Remove Programs" window in the system control panel. However, if you use too much, it will be "slow" to react. Is there a way to make its startup faster?

Method 1: Repair the system files

First, run "sfc /scannow". After clicking the "OK" button, the system will automatically scan the files in the entire computer system. Once it is found that a file is damaged and needs to be restored, it will automatically pop up a prompt window, requiring you to place the Windows installation CD into the optical drive and specify the files that need to be recovered. After clicking the "OK" button, you can restore the damaged system files. After that, when you open the "Add/Remove Programs" window again, you can feel that it starts up significantly faster.

Method 2: Modify the system service

After running "", click the "OK" button, open the system's service list window, double-click the "Protected Storage" option in the list window, and open the settings window. From this window, you can clearly view the current startup status of the "Protected Storage" service. If the service has not started yet, you can first click the "Start" button, then open the "Start Type" drop-down list, select the "Auto" option, then click the "OK" button, and finally restart the computer system.

After that, you open the "Add/Remove Programs" window to see if the opening speed is already faster at this time.

Method 3: Modify system files

Open the system's Explorer window, expand the "Windows" and "Inf" folders in turn, find the system file "" in the corresponding "Inf" folder window, then right-click the file, select "Open With" from the pop-up right-click menu, and then select "Notepad" from the subsequent interface. Then the content in the "" file will be displayed in the Notepad editing interface.

Check whether all components in "Add/Remove Programs" have the ".hide" parameters after them. If so, you can delete them directly, and then save the modified file again according to its original name.
