If you think that there are too many icons on the desktop and too messy! Now let me teach you a simple way to manage shortcuts so that the desktop no longer has piles of icons to affect your appreciation of the desktop! Haha!! (Used under XP/2000, similar to ME/98!)
1. Create shortcut key favorites
Create a new folder anywhere in the hard disk and name it "Frequently Used Software" and put the commonly used software shortcuts into it!
2. Create a "menu"
Right-click "Taskbar" - "Toolbar" - "New Toolbar" - Find and select the shortcut collection "Frequently Used Software" - "OK" with the mouse! The task is done! There is an additional toolbar on the right side of the taskbar. Press the arrow in the toolbar and the drop-down menu will pop up, and you can select the program you want to run.
3. Add shortcuts
Right-click the toolbar with the mouse - open the folder - pull the icon in it!
4. Close the toolbar
Right-click the taskbar. If there is a checkmark in front of the "Lock Taskbar", select "Lock Taskbar" to cancel the lock. Right-click on the toolbar and select "Close Toolbar"!
PS: If you place the shortcut favorites in "C:Documents and Settings "System Username" and "Start" menu", open the "Start Menu"-"All Programs", you will see the folder inside!
