The strongest startup speed-up skills in XP system

There are so many articles on the Internet that are starting to accelerate XP online, but not many are really useful, and some are even misleading readers. I am also an XP user and I have a deep impression of XP's startup acceleration. I have read countless optimization articles, installed XP N times, and took many detours, but in the end I have summarized the experience of truly optimizing XP startup.

My computer configuration is not very good. It takes a long time to start after installing XP or 2003. The scroll bar needs to rotate more than 10 turns. After optimization, the startup time is significantly faster. The scroll bar needs to rotate more than 1 turns and I can't wait to turn the system on. Here is a detailed description of how to speed up startup effectively.

First, open "System Properties" (right-click on my computer - Properties, or open "System" in the control panel, shortcut key win+pause break), click the "Advanced" tab, open "Settings" in the "Startup and Failure Recovery" area, remove the two √ in the "System Startup" area, and if it is a user of multiple systems, retain the √ of "Show the operating system list time". Click "Edit" to determine that the additional attribute of the startup item is /fastdetect instead of changing to nodetect. Do not add the /noguiboot attribute first, because guiboot must be used later.

The next step is very important. Open the "Hardware" tab in "System Properties", open the "Device Manager", expand the "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller", double-click to open the "Second IDE Channel" attribute, click the "Advanced Settings" tab, change the transmission mode of devices 1 and 2 to DMA. If available, if the device type can be selected as "None", select "None", click OK to complete the settings, and set the "Main IDE Channel" in the same way.

Open the registry (Start-Run-regedit), click "My Computer" to open "Find" in the "Edit" menu, enter AutoEndTasks, and click "Find Next". Double-click to open the found result and modify the "Numerical Data" to 1. Then you can find HungAppTimeout and WaitToKillAppTimeout below AutoEndTasks. Set "value data" to 2000 or less. Here, you can also modify the menu delay time. Find MenuShowDelay below AutoEndTasks. The value is in milliseconds. If you want to remove the menu delay, set it to 0.

After modifying, click the "Edit" menu, open "Find Next" (shortcut key F3), and install all the found results in the previous step to modify the method.

Now that the acceleration of startup and shutdown has been completed, restart the computer and feel the feeling of extremely fast startup. Is the scroll bar OK just one or two turns?

After enjoying the fun of the fast restart, we will further accelerate the startup speed, open the "System Properties" - "Advanced" - "Startup and Failure Recovery" settings, open the editing of the "System Startup" area, and add /noguiboot after fastdetect, so that the scroll bar will not be displayed when starting. If you really like the display of this scrollbar, you don't need to do it
