Quick Check Manual for the Reasons for Computer "Blue Screen"

A crash is a very troublesome thing for operators. The performance when the crash is mostly "blue screen", the system cannot be started, the screen "freeze" has no response, the mouse and keyboard cannot be input, the software is not normally interrupted, etc. Although there are many reasons for the crash, it is always the same as the main thing, and the reason can never be separated from both hardware and software.
1. Frozen caused by hardware
【Poor heat dissipation】
The monitor, power supply and CPU generate very high heat during operation, so it is very important to maintain good ventilation. If the monitor is overheated, it will cause color and image distortion and even shorten the life of the monitor. Too long working hours can also cause poor heat dissipation of the power supply or monitor and cause the computer to crash. The cooling of the CPU is an important issue related to the stability of the computer's operation and is also a "severely affected area" for the occurrence of heat dissipation failures.
【Improper mobile】
When the computer is moved, it often causes the internal components of the machine to loosen, resulting in poor contact and causing the computer to crash. Therefore, violent vibrations should be avoided when moving the computer.
【Dust Killer】
Too much dust in the machine can also cause a crash. If the floppy drive head or optical drive laser head is contaminated with too much dust, it will cause reading and writing errors, and in severe cases it will cause the computer to crash.
【Different equipment match】
If the main frequency of the motherboard and the main frequency of the CPU do not match, and the external frequency is set too high when the old motherboard overclocks, it may not ensure the stability of the operation, which will lead to frequent crashes.
【Software and hardware incompatible】
Three-dimensional software and some special software may not be able to start or even install normally on some microcomputers, and there may be problems with hardware and software compatibility.
【Memory Stamp Failure】
It is mainly caused by loose memory sticks, virtual soldering or the quality of the memory chip itself. Memory stick contact failures should be eliminated according to the specific circumstances. If there is a problem with the memory stick quality, the memory needs to be replaced to solve the problem.
【Hard disk failure】
Mainly due to the aging of the hard disk or the bad sectors caused by improper use. This way, the machine is prone to crash when it is running. Special tool software can be used to troubleshoot problems. If the damage is serious, you can only replace the hard drive. In addition, for motherboards that do not support UDMA 66/100, pay attention to the settings of the hard disk operation mode in CMOS.
2. The crash caused by software
【Improper software upgrade】
Most people may think that software upgrades will not have any problems. In fact, some of the components shared in it will be upgraded during the upgrade process, but other programs may not support the upgraded components, which leads to various problems.
【Abuse of beta software】
It is best to use the beta version of the software less, because the test software usually has some bugs or is not stable enough in some aspects. After use, it will cause data loss program errors, crashes, or the system cannot start.
【Illegal uninstall software】
Do not delete the directory where the software is installed directly. If it is deleted directly, there will be many ** in the registry and Windows directory. Over time, the system will become unstable and cause crashes.
【Use pirated software】
Because these software may hide viruses, once executed, your system will be automatically modified to cause the system to crash during operation.
【Defects of application software】
This situation is common, such as running 16-bit application software that runs well in DOS or Windows 3.1 in Win 98. Win 98 is 32-bit, and although it claims to be compatible, there are many things that cannot be coordinated with 16-bit applications. There are also some situations, such as the peripheral drivers that are normally used under Win 95. When the operating system is upgraded, problems may occur, causing the system to crash or fail to start normally. In this case, you should find a new version of the peripheral driver.
【Too many programs to start】
This consumes system resources, causing the data required by individual programs to be unable to be found in memory or virtual memory, and exception errors will also occur.
【Illegal Operation】
Illegally opening or releasing relevant programs with illegal formats or parameters will also cause the computer to crash. Please be careful to keep in mind the correct format and related parameters, and do not open and release unfamiliar programs at will.
【Obnormal shutdown of the computer】
Do not use the power button in the chassis directly, otherwise the system files will be damaged or lost, causing automatic startup or crash during operation. This is very important for systems such as Windows 98/2000/NT. If it is serious, it will cause system crashes.
[In-memory conflict]
Sometimes it is normal to run various software, but suddenly it crashes for no reason. It is very normal to run these applications after restarting. This is a false crash phenomenon. Most of the reasons for this are Win 98’s memory resource conflict. As we all know, the application software runs in memory, and the memory space can be freed after closing the application software. However, due to design reasons, some application software cannot completely release memory even after closing. When the next software needs to use this memory address, conflicts will occur.
[Incorrect deletion of system files]
Since Windows 9x boot requires files such as, etc., if these files are corrupted or deleted by mistake, it will be useless even if various hardware settings are correct in CMOS. Solution: Use the boot disk of the same version of the operating system to start the computer, then type "SYS C:" and re-transmit the system files.
【Initialization file is corrupted】
Since Windows 9x startup requires reading and registry files, if there is a file, these two files will also be read. As long as there is error message in these files, it may crash, especially these four files, which are particularly important.
【Dynamic link library file (DLL) lost】
There is another type of file in the Windows operating system, which is also very important. This is a dynamic link library file with the extension DLL. These files are in nature shared files, that is, a DLL file may have multiple software that needs to call it when it is run. If we delete an application software, the software's anti-installation program will record the files it has installed and prepare to delete them one by one, then it is easy to see that the deleted dynamic link library files will also be used by other software. If the lost link library files are relatively important core link files, the system will crash or even crash. We can use tool software such as "Super Rabbit" to delete useless DLL files, which will avoid mistaken deletion.
[Too little space or too much fragmentation is left in the hard disk]
If the remaining space on the hard disk is too small, because some applications require a lot of memory to run, virtual memory is required, and virtual memory is provided by the hard disk, so the hard disk must have enough space to meet the needs of virtual memory. At the same time, users should also develop the good habit of regularly organizing hard drives and clearing ** files in the hard drive.
【BIOS upgrade failed】
The BIOS should be backed up in case of accidents, but if your system needs to upgrade the BIOS, it is best to determine whether the BIOS version you are using is consistent with your PC before upgrading. If the BIOS upgrade is incorrect or there is an unexpected power outage during the upgrade process, your system may not be able to start. Therefore, before upgrading to BIOS, you must figure out the model of BIOS. If the BIOS upgrade tool you are using can back up the current BIOS, please copy the previous BIOS on disk. At the same time, see if the system supports BIOS recovery and you also need to know how to recover.
【CPU Overclocking】
Overclocking increases the operating frequency of the CPU, and may also make its performance unstable. The reason is that the CPU accesses data in memory faster than the speed of memory exchanging data with the hard disk. Overclocking makes this contradiction more prominent, aggravating the situation where the required data cannot be found in memory or virtual memory, which will cause "exceptional errors". The solution is of course relatively simple, which is to let the CPU return to normal frequency.
[Hardware resource conflict]
This is due to the conflict between the settings of the sound card or the display card, causing an abnormal error. In addition, if the interruption of other devices, DMA or port conflicts occur, it may cause abnormalities in a few drivers and cause death. The solution is to start in "Safe Mode" and make appropriate adjustments in "Control Panel" → "System" → "Equipment Management". For situations where exception errors occur in the driver, you can modify the registry. Select "Run", type "REGEDIT", enter the Registry Editor, and use the "Find" function under the menu to find and delete all "primary keys" and "key values" related to the driver prefix string, and restart.
【Insufficient memory capacity】
The larger the memory capacity, the better, which should not be less than 0.5 to 1% of the hard disk capacity. If this problem occurs, you should replace the memory stick with the largest capacity as possible.
【Inferior parts】
A few illegal businessmen use low-quality boards and memory when assembling compatible machines for customers. Some even sell fake motherboards and Remark CPUs and memory. Such machines are very unstable when running, and life and death are inevitable. Therefore, users should be vigilant when purchasing a computer, and can use some newer tools and software to test the computer, take the computer for a long time (such as 72 hours), and strive for the longest warranty time.
3. Frozen caused by special reasons
【Viral Infection】
Viruses can cause computer work efficiency to drop sharply, causing frequent crashes. At this time, we need to use antivirus software such as Kingsoft Antivirus to conduct comprehensive investigation and antivirus, and to upgrade antivirus software regularly.
【Improper CMOS setting】
This failure phenomenon is very common, such as improper setting of hard disk parameters, mode settings, and memory parameters, which leads to inability to start the computer. If the memory without ECC function is set to have ECC function, it will cause a crash due to memory errors.
