Desktop settings
When you want to delete the icons set by the "Recycle Bin" and "Internet Explorer" on the desktop, you will find that they can not be deleted in the same way as other icons. In fact, you can modify them in the registry and block them.
● Block the "Online Neighbor" icon on the desktop:
Open HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftware Microsoft WindowsCurrentVersionPolicies Explorer (*) subkey branch, create a new DWORD value in the window on the right, name it "NoNetHood", set the key value to 1, and restart takes effect.
● Block the "Internet Explorer" icon on the desktop:
Open the (*) sub-key branch, create a new DWORD value in the window on the right, name it "NoInternetIcon", set its value to 1, and restart it will take effect.
● Block the "Outlook Express" icon on the desktop:
Open the (*) sub-key branch, create a new DWORD value in the window on the right, name it "NoOutlookIcon", set its value to 1, and restart it will take effect.
When you right-click the [New] button, do you think there is a lot of unnecessary content, causing the submenu to pop up very slowly? Isn't this very unpleasant? By modifying the registry, you can reduce the content in the [New] menu, removing options that are not useful to you.
Open the Registry Editor, position the cursor at the top of the registry, select [Finish] in the [Edit] menu, enter Shellnew in the pop-up [Finish] dialog box, look for "item", select "Full word matching", press "Find Next", and find the corresponding file type, if you feel that you don't need it, you can delete the "Shellnew" subkey directly, and then press F3 to find the next one until the search is over.
