Using the Registry Scanner under DOS

Since the program works in dos mode. Therefore, although your operating system is a Chinese version of Windows, the English character interface appears at this time. Program operations are composed of command line and some option switches. There is only one Scanreg command, followed by /, and then it is the so-called switch. If you type: Scanreg/?, a simple help message will appear. The specific analysis is as follows:

Scanreg/backup command to back up the registry. After this command is executed, it starts to back up the registry. The speed is very fast. Dos default prompt symbol appears after the backup.

Scanreg/restore After it is executed, the system will list the backed up registry files. As for how many backup files can be listed, it is related to the settings in the file. Generally, the default is 5 backup files. Each file has a backup date after it. Move the light bar, select one, and execute restore to reply to the selected registry.

Scanreg /fix When there is a problem with the registry, you can use this to repair it. The repair time is long. Maybe my machine has not performed registry repair operations for a long time. After I executed this command on my own machine (P166MMX overclocked to 187MHz, 32M memory), it took me more than ten minutes, and the progress bar indicated the repair completion.

Scanreg /comment=< "comment"> This is the command to back up the comment file. You can back up the file to cab format. Since the cab format is to compress and back up the file, you can also use this to back up other files to cab format. It can reduce the waste of disk space. When you have the function of this file in the future, first execute the Scanreg/restore command to find it in the recovery file list. If necessary, you can also restore it like restoring the registry file.

There is a problem with the system, most of which are related to the registry. If you restore the registry to an earlier one, it might be possible to solve the problem. When the failure you encounter makes the system unable to work in Windows mode, restoring the registry in Dos mode is the only choice.
