By default, Windows XP remembers the settings for the most recent 400 folders. If you set more than 400 folders, the earliest folder settings will be lost. Can Windows XP remember more folder views? By modifying the registry, we can set the maximum number of folders it remembers at will:
Open the Registry Editor, expand the [HKEY_ CURRENT _USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell] branch in turn, and change the value of the subkey "BagMRU Size" (REG_DWORD type, if not, you should create it first) in the right window to set the maximum number of folder views you want to remember (for convenience, you can first change it to decimal and then enter the number, such as "1000").
Next expand [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\Microsoft
\Windows\ShellNoRoam] branch, also change the value of the subkey "BagMRU Size" in the right window to the maximum number of folder views you want to set for the system to remember. After the modification is completed, exit the Registry Editor, restart the computer or log in again to take effect.
Tip: If Windows XP cannot remember folder settings normally, you can first clear all folder settings (that is, delete the two subkeys "BagMRU" and "Bags" in the registry editor), and then make the above modifications.
