Tips: Turn OEM XP into genuine retail XP

Decrypt Windows XP.

Windows XP determines how the OEM XP installation disc runs. Modifying it can turn your OEM disc into a formal retail version.

step:

1. Enter the i386 path of WinXP CD and find it.

2. Open, the file contents are displayed as follows:

ExtraData=707A667567736F696F697911AE7E05

Pid=55034000

The Pid is the part we are interested in, and the numbers behind determine whether this XP disc is a retail version, an OEM version or an enterprise licensed version.

3. It's time to enter an important link

First, we divide the numbers after the Pid into 2 parts. The first five digits determine how the CD runs. For example, the retail version of the CD can allow you to complete installation or upgrade, while the OEM CD can only be fully installed. The last 3 digits determine the CD Key accepted by the CD. You can modify these contents to obtain a retail CD that accepts the OEM CD Key.

Remember, the numbers at the beginning and end cannot be changed, but you can change other numbers to match, for example:

Retail = 51882335

Volume License = 51883 270

OEM = 82503 OEM

If you want a retail CD that accepts a retail CD key, just modify the last line to:

Pid=51882335

If you want a retail CD that accepts OEM version of CD Key, modify the last line to:

Pid=51882OEM

Note that you should not change the Pid to the Enterprise Authorized Edition, because this version cannot be activated, and the activation must be equipped with the Enterprise Authorized Key.
