Usually, the printer's port is set to "Lpt1: Printer Port". Some special types of printers may need to use special printing ports. At this time, you must check the corresponding printer's user manual and set a suitable printing port for the printer according to the usage requirements in the manual.
5. Make sure that the application must be correctly output when outputting the printed content, otherwise when there is a problem with the application output, the output content will not be printed. When checking whether the application output is correct, you can use the method of printing documents through other programs to verify. The easiest way is to print the test document through the "Notepad" program. During the test, you can follow the following steps:
First, open the Notepad program window, open any text file that already exists in the window or enter a few lines of test content in the program window by yourself, and then click the "Print" command in the program menu bar. If the printer works normally, then the application that the user used must have problems with output. You can try to reinstall the program.
6. Try to restart the printer. If the computer connected to the printer is relatively low, then if there is a lot of printing content sent to the printer at a certain moment, the memory in the printer or the memory in the computer will not have time to handle these numerous printing tasks. At this time, the phenomenon shown by the printer is that it is not responsive to any printing tasks. If you can restart the printer or computer, the printing task blocked in the printer's memory will be cleared, and other printing failures encountered by the printer may disappear after the printer is restarted.
7. Check whether the printer has already set the timeout. Once set, the printer will not print out the output content directly after receiving the printing command, but will only enter the online state at the specified time and perform the printing action. When checking the timeout settings, you just need to follow the above operation method, open the printer properties window, and then click the "Detailed Information" tab in the window. Under this tab page, you can add various "Timeout Settings" values. Of course, the "Timeout Settings" value cannot be used in network printing.
8. After the above inspection and verification, if the printer has not responded, you should try to reinstall the printer driver, because once the printer driver is damaged, the document may not be printed.
When reinstalling the printer driver, first in the printer window, click the printer icon, and select the delete command from the pop-up shortcut menu. When the system prompts whether to "delete the dedicated files of this printer", you can directly click the OK button; then in the printer window, double-click the "Add Printer" icon with the mouse, and follow the prompts of the printer's Add Wizard dialog box to complete the reinstallation of the printer driver. If the printer can work normally after the printer driver is installed, it means that the printer's inability to respond is caused by the printer driver.
