How to install ms dos 6.22 in Virtual PC

In "Do it by yourself", the author's platform is virtual pc 5.0. He uses this virtual machine as a development platform. Unfortunately, VirtualPC was acquired by Microsoft after it launched version 5.2, and then he used Microsoft's dominance to make VPC only support Windows. Even Dos cannot support it.

Note: This article was carefully typed and prepared to be published, but CSSDN was not submitted. I am depressed. I arranged the version a little this time. I forgive you for not making it well!

Note 2: I have been trying to do VPC and VMware for a day before I sorted out this article. Given that there are no relevant resources on the Internet, I wrote it out for your reference. Please keep my information and website when reprinting. Thank you!

Let’s get back to the point, today I will talk about my experience in researching vpc:

First of all, the Chinese version of Virtual PC 5.2 is the best choice. Virtual 2007 can install dos, but it cannot share folders (the reason is explained later).

1. Install MSdos 6.22

Here is the next msdos6.22 image:/

Now please select:Non-Windows Based Image Files W_ImageApp

Direct download address: /bootdisk/
After downloading, decompressing it (this is a floppy disk image)

Then start the Virtual PC, create a new PC, memory 32m, hard disk 50m, and OK to start!

Menu -> Floppy Drive -> Load Mirror Select

OK, boot the system, enter dos. Then partition the hard disk

Execute the command: fdisk

Then format the c disk format C: /s

Then transfer the system file sys C:

Then copy the floppy disk file: copy a:\*.* c:\      (Be careful not to overwrite the existing files on the c disk)

OK. Menu -> Floppy Drive -> Release Mirror ""

Restart so that you enter the dos environment.

2. Install the shared folder module.

Note: Dos is no longer supported in 2007, so the additional modules under dos are not provided. I originally wanted to use the dos module in VPC5.2 version instead, but when I ran (a program that provides folder sharing), it prompted: It is not running in Connectix's products, and it cannot run, resulting in the DOS additional modules being unable to be installed in VPC2007 and cannot share folders.

How to set up VPC 5.2 Chinese version:

After restarting to dos, menu -> Floppy Drive -> Loading image Select dos add-on module

After loading, switch to floppy disk

Execute the command:c:\>a:

Execute the command:a:\>dosadd

Then you can see Successful. Haha.

Then restart and enter the dos system. Menu -> Edit -> Properties Settings. At this time, the shared folder can be added. Add one and set it to drive letter Y:

Then execute the command Y:

You can see the shared files.

In VMware, you only need the first step to set up a shared folder. There is no need to install additional modules!

It is best to use VMware because it supports multiple systems and implements folder sharing is not that complicated.
