"Soft Modification" program--Vista Loader V2.1.2

About Vista Loader
Vista Loader is the first software to break through the Vista activation restrictions through software, and is an original software created by Chinese people. Its working principle is: run a specially made boot program before booting the operating system, modify the computer's memory, add specific data, simulate the BIOS of the branded machine, and use it to break through Vista's activation verification.
The version circulated on the Internet was version 1.0, which was released on February 17, 2007 (New Year's Eve). The volume label of the CD is SOFTMOD-L, based on the DOS system, and is released in ISO file format. Version 1.0 has two branches, the volume labels of the ISO file are SOFTMOD-B and SOFTMOD-L respectively. The general functions of these two branches are the same, with only the differences in details.
The Vista Loader version completely rewrites the code, separates from the DOS system, compiles it with the improved version of GRUB4DOS, a widely used multi-system boot program GRUB, and improves the simulation method, compatible with brand machines that are not compatible with version 1.0. For specific improvements, please refer to the update log.
This is a software created by the Chinese, I hope everyone will take care of it. If you modify or package this program, you may not indicate the author, but you must indicate "original Chinese" and the official name of this program "Vista Loader".

Program Features
1. No need to modify the BIOS, achieve breakthrough SLP 2.0 verification, and activate the operating system.
2. It is a boot program itself, with all the functions of GRUB4DOS - booting multiple operating systems, integrating recovery systems, etc.
3. Run before the operating system boots, it is safe and reliable, and has good compatibility. It does not occupy system resources and will not conflict with the software installed in the system.
4. It supports both x86 and x64 systems, and supports operating systems that use SLP 2.0 technology in the future, such as Longhorn Server, just import new verification data.
5. It hardly affects the startup time and only consumes about 1 second.
6. Simulate multiple brand machines BIOS. Currently supported brands include Acer, ASUS, DELL, Gateway, HP, NEC, Lenovo, and Sony. Can expand it yourself.
7. Automatically import OEM certificates of the corresponding brand.
8. The boot disk can be created to enable the operating system to not modify any data of the hard disk. Safe and reliable.

Update log
2.1.2 Improvements to version 2.1.1:
1. Fixed the issue of "ACPI: Reclaim Memory not found!" and crashing for some models of DELL and HP.
2. Fixed the issue of failure to recover after some computers hibernate.

2.1.1 Improvements to version 2.1.0:
1. Added processing of SLIC tables containing invalid data in the BIOS. It supports ASUS P5B series motherboards and some branded machines that were not successfully activated before.
2. Added a check on whether the target memory is writable.
3. Add simulations of the two brands NEC and Gateway.

Improvements to version 2.1.0:
1. Enhanced compatibility, when the 2.0 simulation algorithm cannot be used, the 1.0 simulation algorithm is used.
2. Fix subtle problems.

Improvements to version 1.0:
1. Compile with GRUB4DOS, you can enter the Vista startup process in just 1 second.
2. Install to the partition boot record, add fault tolerance function, and boot Vista normally even if the soft-modification program file is lost. (NTFS Only!)
3. Keep the original ACPI table unmodified and enhance stability and compatibility. It can adapt to the brand machine that cannot be modified in version 1.0.
4. Supports simulating BIOS with multiple branded machines. There are .bin SLIC files and .xrm-ms certificate files for multiple brands of machines in the data folder.
5. Automatically import the certificate of the corresponding brand.
6. Improve boot compatibility and is suitable for multiple partition environments.
7. Fixed the issue of occupying 1M-2M memory.
8. Fixed the problem of floppy drive failure.

Making Vista Loader Boot Disk
Use the following steps to create a boot CD of the "soft modification" program. Each time you start the computer with the CD, you can enable any data on the hard disk to be modified and the operating system can be activated. This is the safest and most reliable way, just every time you restart the computer, you need to boot with a boot disk.
1. Click the "Start" menu, select "All Programs" > "Attachments", and click "Command Prompt".
2. Go to the folder where this program is located and execute the command at the command prompt: makeldr [Brand Name] For example: makeldr lenovo
If you do not write the brand name, ASUS will be installed by default. Currently supported brands include Acer, ASUS, DELL, Gateway, HP, NEC, Lenovo, and Sony. You can place files in the data folder by yourself to support new brands.
After the command is executed, grldr is generated in the folder where this program is located. This file is the main file of this program.
3. Use UltraISO or other ISO production software to load grldr as the boot file (no matter how you want to worry about the software's default extension, just enter grldr to open it). You can also add other files to the CD, such as OEM certificates, document documents or common software.
4. Save ISO and burn it to the CD. The boot disk is completed.
Note: makeldr will not automatically import the certificate to the current system. Please import the certificate to the target system by yourself and change the serial number. The command to import the certificate is -ilc <Folder where this program is located>data<Brand Name>.xrm-ms
You can also use GRUB4DOS related tools to create a USB boot disk. The USB startup method is relatively complicated, please refer to the GRUB4DOS related teaching articles.

Install Vista Loader to the hard disk
If you do not want to start the computer using the boot disk every time, you can install this program to the hard disk
1. If you have installed the 1.0 version of soft-modified program, please use the 1.0 version of uninstall command to uninstall it. If it cannot be uninstalled, see "Manually uninstall Vista Loader 1.0".
2. Click the "Start" menu, select "All Programs" > "Attachments", right-click "Command Prompt", select "Run as Administrator", and confirm the pop-up security prompt.
3. Go to the folder where this program is located and execute the installation command at the command prompt: install [Brand Name] For example: install lenovo
If you do not write the brand name, Asus will be installed by default. Currently supported brands include Acer, ASUS, DELL, HP, Lenovo, and Sony. You can place files in the data folder by yourself to support new brands.
4. The installer will install the "soft modification" program of the specified brand on the hard disk and import the certificate of the corresponding brand. After the installation is completed, restart the computer.
5. Check the activation status. If it is not activated, try to replace the OEM serial number included with this file.
Note: The installer will attempt to install on all drives containing the Vista boot program, and will also be uninstalled during uninstallation. If installation fails on some drives, it can be ignored as long as the drive is not an active partition for booting the system.
After installation, restart the computer.

Uninstall Vista Loader
The steps for uninstalling are similar to those for installation. The uninstall command is: uninstall
If the uninstall fails, you can use a manual method to uninstall.
1. Click the "Start" menu, select "All Programs" > "Attachments", right-click "Command Prompt", select "Run as Administrator", and confirm the pop-up security prompt.
2. Enter the data folder of this program.
3. bootrest /nt60 d: (d: is the drive letter of the system boot partition)
4. attrib d:grldr -r -h -s (remove the special properties of soft-modification programs in the boot partition)
5. del d:grldr (delete the soft-modified program)

Manual uninstall Vista Loader 1.0
1. Click the "Start" menu, select "All Programs" > "Attachments", right-click "Command Prompt", select "Run as Administrator", and confirm the pop-up security prompt.
2. Enter the data folder of this program.
3. bootrest /nt60 d: (d: is the drive letter of the system boot partition. The corresponding command of version 1.0 is mbr_rest, and the functions are consistent and interoperable)
4. attrib d:vstaldr.* -r -h -s
attrib d: -r -h -s (Remove the special properties of soft-modification programs in the boot partition)
5. del d:vstaldr.*
del d: (Delete the soft-modified program)

Failure recovery
If a system problem occurs after installing to the hard disk, you can use the Vista installation disk to start the computer, select Install, press Shift+F10 on the interface where you enter the serial number to enter the command line, go to the folder where this program is located, and run the uninstall command to uninstall.

Advanced Applications
After installation, there is only one file in the "soft modification" program, which is located in the root directory of the startup partition, named grldr.
This file is the main file of GRUB4DOS, which contains all the functions of GRUB4DOS. The built-in default boot menu emulates the BIOS and boots the Windows operating system on the hard disk.
You can customize the menu file: create a file yourself in the root directory of the startup partition. Remember to add the command to simulate BIOS: acpi
Other commands and application methods are the same as GRUB4DOS, please refer to the GRUB4DOS document.

Other matters
1. This "soft modification" program only supports operating systems that use SLP 2.0 technology, and the first system to use this technology is Vista. Therefore, this program is invalid for the OEM version of XP.
2. This program will not affect software compatibility. If you encounter a software that cannot be installed in Vista, please confirm that the software supports Vista first.
3. The program only adds verification data to memory at startup, and will not reside in memory and will not conduct disk access.
4. There are two types of program failure: 1) The operating system cannot start. 2) The operating system is not activated. If you encounter a failure, please check whether you install it strictly according to the instructions.
5. Whether the operating system is activated is the only criterion for checking whether this program is successful. Checking software through ACPI is not necessarily accurate. For example, Everest’s ACPI function is incomplete and does not support the latest ACPI standards. Some ACPI tables in the system may not be seen. In the latest version, Everest marked "Emulated" for the ACPI table that he could not find but found on Windows, which is an incorrect sign.
6. This program is only recommended for use in experimental environments and is only used for technical research. It shall not be used to produce pirated software. Please support genuine software.
