I will teach you the example of modifying the appearance of the registry system (II)

●Sorting for Chinese character input method:

Some users have many input methods in the system after installing Windows XP. When selecting the input method they like, they need to press the Ctrl+Shift keys many times, which is very inconvenient. In fact, the default display order of the input method can be modified through the registry.

Open the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard layout\preload subkey branch, and you can see that there are several numbers in the pane on the right. All input methods are arranged in order from 1 to down, but you can see that their default values are hexadecimal numbers, and do not specify what input methods they represent. You can click the "En" icon of the input method indicator in the taskbar, where the order from top to bottom is the numbering order of the subkeys of the input method. The input method that comes with Windows XP is:

English (US): 00000409
Microsoft Pinyin Input Method Version 3.0: e00e0804 (The other versions of Microsoft Input Method are also this number)
Full spelling input method version 5.0: e0010804
Intelligent ABC input method version 5.0: e0040804

When changing the order, there is no need to change their default values, just rename their order numbers. However, when renaming, you cannot use existing numbers. To do this, you must first change the existing name to a temporary name, and then rearrange the serial number according to your needs. After completion, exit the registry editor and restart it to take effect.

●Extended [Start] menu right-click function—“Quick Start”/“Quick Close” system:

Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Directory\shell in the Registry Editor to quickly start the system subkey branch, right-click the Shell, select [New]|[Item], name it "Command", and modify the default key value to "C:\Windows\, exitwindowsexec". After restarting, the option "Quick Start" will appear when the mouse right-clicks the [Start] menu. To add the "Quick shutdown system" option, quickly start the system subkey branch in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Directory\shell, right-click the Shell, select [New]|[Item], name it "Command", and modify the default key value to "C:\Windows\, exitwindows".

●Set the delay time of the submenu in the [Start] menu:

Open the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel subkey branch, create a new DWORD type value on the right, and name it "MenuShowDelay" (if it already exists, you don't need to create it). This value represents the menu display delay time, and its unit is ms. If you don't like the system's automatic pop-up menu, because this will affect you doing other operations, you can set this value to a larger one, and the system will only display the submenu when you click the menu.

●Hide the small arrow on the icon on the shortcut:

Open the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile subkey branch, delete the IsShortCut key in the right window, and restart it to take effect.

●The name of the prohibited desktop has four words "shortcut":

Open the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer subkey branch, and then create a new binary key value in the window on the right, name it "link", and set its value to 00 00 00 00, and restart takes effect.

●Modify the display name of desktop icons and other system components:

Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache subkey branch, you can see the display names of various components in the system in the window on the right. As long as you like to change any name, double-click the key value item, and fill in the pop-up dialog box. After restarting the computer, the corresponding program display name is entered by you. Isn't it very personal?
