Workaround: Run the failed reconciliation console and allow the system to fix any detected errors; if an error occurs immediately after memory is added to the computer, it may be that the paging file is corrupted, or the new memory is faulty or incompatible. Delete and return the system to the original memory configuration.
(2) Troubleshooting Windows XP Blue Screen of Death
Windows XP is an operating system based on Windows 2000. Its blue screen error (Stop error) is similar to Windows 2000.
1. General solutions
(1) Restart the computer.
(2) Ensure that all new hardware or software are installed correctly. Unplug a new hardware device every time and see if it can eliminate the error. If it can be eliminated, go to (3). Replace any hardware that has been proven to be problematic by this test. You can also try running hardware diagnostic software provided by computer manufacturers. If it is a newly installed hardware or software, please contact the manufacturer for the Windows XP update or driver you may need.
(3) Click "Start → Help and Support → Get Support" in the Windows XP news group (under "Request Help"), and then click Get Help from Microsoft in the column on the left.
(4) Click "Start → Help and Support" and then click "Fixing a problem) (located under "Select a Help Topic") to get a list of troubleshooting programs.
(5) Check the Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) to confirm whether all hardware and drivers are compatible with Windows XP. To view the latest version of HCL, visit the Microsoft Web site (/hcl/).
(6) Disable or delete any newly installed hardware (memory, adapter, hard disk, modem, etc.), driver or software.
If you can start Windows XP, check the System Log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that may help identify the device or driver that is causing the problem. The way to start "Event Viewer" is: click "Start → Settings → Control Panel → Performance and Maintenance → Administrative Tools", double-click the Event Viewer to open it, and then double-click the system log to view it.
If Windows XP is not enabled, try starting the computer in safe mode and then delete or disable any newly added programs or drivers. Note: Stop errors 0x0000001E, 0x000000A, and 0x0000007B can also be caused by conventional hardware errors.
For this type of Stop error, we can first follow the steps below the regular Stop error. If the Stop error still exists, try the following steps:
① Check whether the driver identified in the Stop message has been signed and certified by Windows Hardware Quality Laboratory (WHQL). Run the driver that checks for unsigned.
②Try to replace the driver identified in the Stop message: you can use a good copy obtained from the installation media, or use an updated version obtained from the manufacturer.
③Disable the driver identified in the Stop message or the newly installed driver.
④If you have a video driver provided by Windows XP, you can try switching to the standard VGA driver or the compatible driver that comes with Windows XP.
⑤Uninstall any software that uses filter drivers (such as antivirus, disk defragmentation, remote control, firewall or backup programs).
⑥ Run the "Recovery Console" and allow the system to fix any detected errors.
⑦ If a computer error occurs immediately after adding memory, it means that the page file may be corrupted, or the new memory may be incorrect or incompatible. In this case, delete the file and restore the system to the original RAM configuration.
(2) File system Stop error:
Error message: 0x00000023 Description text: FAT_FILE_SYSTEM
Error message: 0x00000024 Description text: NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM
For this type of Stop error, we can first follow the steps below the regular Stop error. If the Stop error still exists, try the following steps:
① If you are using a SCSI adapter, you can obtain the latest Windows XP driver from the hardware manufacturer, disable the synchronization negotiation function of the SCSI device, verify whether the SCSI chain is terminated correctly, and at the same time check the SCSI ID of the device. If you cannot determine how to perform the above steps, refer to the instructions for the device.
②If you are using an IDE device, define the IDE port as "Only Master". Check the Master/Slave/Only settings of the IDE device. Delete all IDE devices except the hard drive. If you cannot determine how to perform the above steps, see the hardware instructions.
③Disable or uninstall any software that uses filter drivers (such as antivirus, disk defragmentation, remote control, firewall or backup programs).
④ Run Chkdsk/f to determine whether the file system is corrupt. If Windows XP cannot run Chkdsk, move the drive to another computer running Windows XP and run the Chkdsk command on that drive on that computer.

⑤ Install Windows XP in a new folder. Step by step, add the driver and restart it to separate out the drivers that are causing the problem.
⑥ Run the "Recovery Console" and allow the system to fix any detected errors.
3. Troubleshoot system Internet errors
For most people, Modem+IE is their Internet combination, and there will also be a large number of error messages during dialing and browsing.
Prompt message: Bad File Request
Common reason: Incorrect file request. You may fill in incorrect information when filling out certain forms on the other party’s web page, which may cause errors when processing the information.
Solution: Press the "BackSpace" key to modify.
Prompt message: Failed DNS Lookup
Normal reason: Failed to find the DNS server. The URL locations that the user typed cannot be translated into IP addresses. This error is usually due to excessive load on the website and usually occurs on commercial websites.
Solution: Give up or try again later.
Prompt message: TCP Error Encountered While Sending Request To Server
Normal reason: An error occurs when TCP packets are sent to the server. When transmitting some illegal or incomplete data, a TCP error will occur.
Solution: You can try to connect to the web page after a while.
Prompt message: Unable to create HOST
Normal reason: The host cannot be found. This means that the URL or other URL you typed cannot find the desired destination, or the URL does not exist, or it may be that there is a problem with your network connection.
Solution: Check whether the entered address is correct.
Prompt message: A connection with the server can not be established
Usually reason: The connection to the server cannot be established. The WWW browser cannot establish a connection with the specified server, and there are two possible reasons: if only this prompt appears in the message, the reason is that the user does not run the dial-up networking program correctly before filling in the URL address in the browser; if there are other prompt information before the prompt message, it is usually: Internet Explorer Cannot Open The Internet Site method://, the reason is that the user did not access the Internet before connecting to a certain server, or the connection was interrupted in the middle; or the correct method (such as ftp, http, etc.) is given in the URL address, but the wrong computer name is specified, or the computer does not support the method. As given by the user, the host is a mail server, not a WWW server.
Solution: If it is a first type of error, please execute the dialing program first; if it is a second type of error, please correct the URL address; if the error still occurs after correcting the address error, the reason is on the other host, and the user can only give up the connection to the computer.
Prompt message: Cannot find “tlenet://202.98.32.111/”. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct.
Usually reason: the address (URL) xxxxxxx cannot be found, check whether the path or address is correct. The user uses the wrong access method (input error) in the URL address, or the browser (IE) does not support this access method.
Workaround: Modify the wrong method in the URL, or cancel the operation.
Prompt message: Connection to   was terminated. Do you want to reconnect?
Normal reason: The connection to the host is interrupted. Is it reconnected? Your dial-up connection software to the ISP host is interrupted, mostly due to interruptions in the telephone line.
Solution: Select Reconnect in the dialog box of the prompt message.
Prompt message: File Not Found The requested URL /jiangbo/ was not found on this server.
Usually reason: the file is not found, and the specified URL xxxxxx file is not found on the server. The computer specified by the user in the URL is already connected, but the file xxxxxx required by the user is not found, which may be because the file name and its path are incorrect, or the file has been deleted (or removed).
Workaround: Modify the file name and its path in the URL to make sure it is correct, or cancel the operation.
Prompt message: Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site xxxx://
Usually reason: The browser cannot open the site: xxx://. The browser cannot open a certain site. The reason may be that the number-plug-up program is not running, the user's computer has not yet "surfing the Internet"; or the DNS domain name server is set up incorrectly; the address input is incorrect; the computer specified by the user in the URL address does not support the methods specified in the URL, etc.
Solution: This error message often has a reason description, and the specific explanation should be based on this explanation information.
Prompt message: Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet siteexxx:/// The connection with the server was reset.
Normal reason: WWW browser cannot open the site: xxx://. The connection to the server is interrupted. During the connection process, the dial-up network is interrupted. The reason may be that the phone is brought up, causing the connection between the user's computer and the ISP's server to be interrupted; or other reasons for interrupting the connection.
Workaround: Run the dial-up network and reconnect the site.
Prompt information: Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site xxx:// The site was not found Make sure the address is correct, and try  again.
Usually reason: The browser cannot open the site, the site is not found, make sure to use the correct address, try again. The browser cannot open the specified server site. The most fundamental reason is that the domain name address is entered incorrectly; the domain name server is set up incorrectly or the server is incorrect, and the domain name cannot be converted into an IP address; the browser has not dialed up before connecting to the Internet.
Solution: Run the dial-up connection program; correct the domain name error; check whether the domain name server address is set correctly.
Prompt message: The computer is not receiving a responce from the modem. Check that the modem is plugged in, and if necessary, turn the modem off, and then turn it back on.
Common reason: The computer does not receive a modem response. Check if the modem is connected, and if necessary, turn off the modem power and turn on its power. The modem is not connected correctly; or the modem power is not turned on and other reasons.
Solution: Connect the modem correctly; turn on the modem power; turn on the power again after turning off the modem power.
Prompt message: The Microsoft Dial-Up Adapter is not installed or not responding  the Network section of control panel, remove the driver and then add it  again.
Common reason: Microsoft dialing adapter is not installed or has no answer. First delete the driver in the network configuration of the Control Panel, and then add it again. When a user runs a dial-up network program (Dial-Up Networking), the computer does not find the TCP/IP protocol. Most of the reasons are that the network protocol is not configured correctly, that is, the TCP/IP protocol is not included in the network configuration.
Solution: Install TCP/IP protocol for your computer.
Prompt message: The modem is being used by another Dial-Up Networking connection or another program. Disconnect the other connection or close the program, and then try  again.
Common reason: The modem is being used by another dial-up network or program. Disconnect the modem or close the application using the modem and try again. When the user is running the dial-up network, the system discovers that the modem has been used by another program. The reason may be that another program is using a modem; another program that has used a modem is not closed normally; port conflicts (mostly occur on computers that use serial-port mouse).
Workaround: Close other programs using the modem; check whether the port settings conflict.
Prompt information: The site was not found, Make sure the address is correct, and try again.
Usually reason: The site is not found, try again after entering the correct address. Enter the wrong address when browsing WWW; or the domain name server (DNS) setting is incorrect.
Solution: Modify the address in the browser address bar; reset the TCP/IP protocol software, or reset the DNS parameters under Windows dial-up network.
Prompt message: The TCP manager is still busy dialing. Press within the TCP manager to abort the dialing process.
Normal reason: TCP manager is dialing. Please press the ESC key in the TCP manager first to abort the dialing process. When the TCP manager is in the dialing process, the user wants to shut down the software system.
Solution: Make sure that in TCP Manager, press the ESC key, abort dialing first, and then close the software system.
Prompt message: There has an error transferring your mail. I sid: PASS and then the POP server (username@hostname) sid: ERR Password failed for xxxxx. Usually reason: An error occurred during the delivery of the mail: POP3 server returns when checking the password: The user’s xxxxxx password is incorrect. Using the Eudora mail program, the password you entered appears incorrectly when checking the mailbox.
Solution: Modify the password and recheck the server mailbox.
Prompt message: There is no dialtone. Make sure your modem is connected to the phone line properly.
Common reasons: There is no dialing sound; make sure your modem is properly connected to the phone line. The modem did not detect a dial tone, which may be due to a telephone system failure; or the telephone line is not properly connected to the modem; or the modem is malfunctioning.
Solution: Pause the use of the modem and first determine whether someone is using the same telephone line; check whether the phone can be used normally. If the phone cannot be used, it means that the fault is in the telephone system; if the phone can be used, check the telephone line to ensure that the modem is correctly connected to the modem and the modem power is on.
Prompt information: Web site found, waiting for reply.
Usually reason: The network site is found, please wait for the return information. The user uses a browser to connect to a certain site and enters the domain name in the address bar. When the DNS domain name service system translates the domain name into the corresponding IP address, the information will be displayed in the browser status line.
Solution: Wait, the browser is connecting to the other host.
Prompt message: You have been disconnected from the computer you dialed. Douleclick the connection to try  again.
Normally, you have disconnected from the dialed computer, double-click to connect, and try again. Because of the user, it is mostly because of the error in the password or user name input, and the user's identity cannot be confirmed.
Solution: Check the username and password and re-enter; if there is still an error, please contact the ISP
